Team Introduction Core Content Recommendation: our team is responsible for designing and optimizing TikTok's content distribution and author growth mechanism to ensure the health and sustainable development of TikTok's content ecosystem. Our work involves optimizing large-scale recommendation algorithms, solving optimization problems with complex constraints, designing and implementing recommendation architectures for various scenarios, and conducting complex and in--depth analysis of product data. Here, you can drive deeper into the improvement and optimization of machine learning/deep learning algorithms, including but not limited to Mathematics, CV/NLP technology, multi-task learning, multi-modal technology, reinforcement learning, causal inference, metricing learning, graph neural networks, life long learning etc. It is also possible to influence the future development direction of the product through in-depth analysis of the product and content ecosystem. Our specific work is divided into the following main directions: Content Coldstart: (throughout retrievals/rerank/rank/value tree) -Author value: modeling the author values during the new contents are created -Explore the fresh videos: help the new videos' embedding converge quickly and correctly (for example cv/nlp based multi-modal technology, RL etc.) Author and traffic -Treat the author side and consumer side as a huge bipartite-graph, match the traffic with weighted edge, improve professional author experience. Publish -Modeling all users' publish at TikTok through retrievals/rerank/rank value tree. 1min+ content distribution -Modeling 1min+ content distribution at TikTok throughout retrievals/rerank/rank/value tree. Preferred Qualifications: - Graduating December 2024 onwards with intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship. - Familiar with one or more of the algorithms such as Collaborative Filtering, Matrix Factorization, Factorization Machines, Word2vec, Logistic Regression, Gradient Boosting Trees, Deep Neural Networks, Wide and Deep etc. - Publications at KDD, NeurlPS, WWW, SIGIR, WSDM, ICML, IJCAI, AAAI, RECSYS and related conferences/journals, or experience in data mining/machine learning competitions such as Kaggle/KDD-cup etc. - Strong communication and teamwork skills; - Passion about techniques and solving challenging problems.
