Ai Layer Labs is a seed stage startup with remote employees, with a subset of leadership based in the greater Seattle area.
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled, US-based Senior Ruby on Rails Developer with a robust background in full-stack web development and web-oriented DevOps to join our team. This full-time, remote role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in an innovative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about building solutions at the intersection of AI and blockchain. This individual contributor role reports to the Director of Technology.
Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development of our web products.
Lead by example with high-quality coding practices and an emphasis on scalability and security.
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
Implement a robust set of services and APIs to power web applications.
Help manage and optimize cloud DevOps for maximum speed and scalability.
Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
Proven experience in software development, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
Expertise in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
Extensive experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and key-value store databases (e.g., Redis).
Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
Experience with Hotwire's Turbo and using Stimulus for interactive clients.
Strong background in building APIs and web services, including REST and GraphQL.
Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think algorithmically.
Demonstrated ability to architect scalable and flexible backend systems.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end products and features.
