This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders. As a Senior Accounting manager, you will assist in overseeing all financial and accounting roles related to accounting procedures and internal controls. You will participate in financials and budget preparation, financial forecasting, and the creation of new policies and procedures to enhance our business. You will ensure GAAP compliance. This position requires a self-motivated, friendly, positive minded individual with a solid accounting base, who can identify and complete work in a highly dynamic environment. Must be team oriented and must be willing to cross train in other business administration tasks if needed. Knowledge of McLeod Software is preferred.
Job Duties
· Assist in establishing and maintaining the company's financial policies and procedures by providing administrative direction to the accounting, budgeting, treasury and insurance functions.
· Maintain compliance with GAAP.
· Assess current internal controls and assist in implementing new controls and modifying current controls as necessary in all accounting areas.
· Oversee coding for transactions in Accounts Payables.
· Oversee Accounts Payable process to ensure timely payment to vendors.
Oversee Collections and take action to assist in collection of moneys owed.
Assist in establishing depreciation rates for capital assets.
Oversee all Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
Recording and managing intercompany transactions.
Prepare Ad hoc reports as requested.
Mortgage/Loan Servicing and reconciliations.
Assist in all audits.
Assist in Cash and Expense management.
Assist in budget/planning.
Prepare monthly forecast reports.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports.
Prepare Proforma Statements.
Meet and collaborate with operations team and external parties as needed.
Exceptional supervisory skills with regard to communicating, motivating, leading and working with all types of personalities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance or related field with solid accounting skills.
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive professional accounting experience preferably in transportation or logistics field.
Experience with Accounting and Transportation ERP software (McLeod preferred). Microsoft Office and QuickBooks required.
