JOB AD:
JOB TITLE: School Program Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a School Program Assistant to support the administration, coordination, and evaluation of our school program. In this role, you will be assisting teachers and department leaders in improving curriculum and instruction, designing and evaluating programs to prevent discipline problems, and collaborating with staff and parents to enhance the school program. You will also be responsible for conducting research, managing staff, and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Advise and assist department leaders and teachers in improving curriculum and instruction through classroom observation and access to resources.
• Design, implement, and evaluate programs to prevent discipline problems and assist in resolving scholar school problems.
• Identify areas of staff development needs and assist in designing and implementing staff development programs.
• Supervise and evaluate co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.
• Support communication with parents and the community, and promote parental involvement in the school program.
• Identify areas where policy or change is needed and assist in policy development.
• Collaborate with the principal and school committees to identify strategies to enhance the school program.
• Develop and maintain a calendar of school activities.
• Conduct research, complete reports, and participate in surveys.
• Manage assigned staff, resolve workload issues, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive school environment that promotes academic excellence for all learners.
• Promote and support the overall mission of the District. QUALIFICATIONS :
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications :
Education and Experience:
• Master's Degree in Education or a closely related field.
• Two (2) years of professional teaching experience.
• OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
• Valid driver's license.
• Principal's license from the State of Minnesota.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Knowledge of district policies, curriculum requirements, and learning objectives.
• Familiarity with state and federal laws governing public education.
• Strong management and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
• Proficiency in computer applications related to the work.
• Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
• Familiarity with Restorative Practice/Restorative Justice in K-12 Education.
• Knowledge of Trauma Informed Teaching Practices.
• Understanding of the Individual Disability Education Act and MN State regulations of Special Education.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily performed in an office setting within a school building. Occasional travel may be required.
