Total Number of Openings1Chevron Renewable Energy Group is accepting online applications for the position of Biodiesel Lab Technician at Danville, IL through April 14th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. CST.In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with technical support to Renewable Energy Group with an emphasis on maintaining and improving the quality of the current production and validating the quality of the incoming feedstock.Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Quality testing of incoming/refined ingredients, in-process products, finished products, and co-productsPerform analytical testing utilizing various laboratory instrumentation including (but not limited to): GC-FID, Karl Fisher titrator, densitometer, ICP, and sulfur analyzer.Analyze analytical information and communicate the results efficiently and accurately to management.Perform instrument calibration and verification per manufacturing recommendations ASTM D6751 test methods, and internal work instructions.Participate in the SCQ program, BQ9000 program, Chevron REG's Quality Program, and FSMA program.Perform laboratory standard and reagent preparation.Perform activities related to the continuous improvement of laboratory operations, including testing accuracy and precision in compliance with statistical quality assuranceTroubleshoot instrumentation problems if/when they arise and offer solutions/recommendations for remediation.Administrative and housekeeping duties.Recording of testing data in a timely manner.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:0-2 years of experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsMicrosoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)Be available for rotating 8, 10, or 12-hour shift work and overtimeCommunicate effectively with management and co-workers (oral and written)Demonstrate attention to detail and documentationMaintain a clean and orderly workingenvironmentAbility to read and follow directions and instructionsManage multiple tasks simultaneously and in a timely mannerRecord data and generate reports on a timely basisProvide personal contact information on an as-needed basis for official business purposesPreferred Qualifications:An associate's degree in a science-related field is preferred, or experience in a laboratory setting can be substitutedAnalytical ability to identify the root cause of measurement error, comprehension of instrument technical specifications and calibration procedures preferredJD EdwardsRelocation Options:Relocation may be considered within Chevron's parameters.International Considerations:Expatriate assignments won't be considered.Chevron regrets that it is unable to sponsor employment Visas or consider individuals on time-limited Visa status for this position.Regulatory Disclosure for US Positions:Chevron is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
