Job DescriptionThe Employer Relations and Career Services Assistant/Associate Director serves as a full-time administrative faculty member on the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Team in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech. The College is a diverse organization that includes over 4,000 undergraduate students in more than 40 majors. The position is responsible for establishing and achieving career services goals for students, expanding career opportunities for current students and graduates, developing and maintaining contacts with employers across a wide range of industries, improving the percent of students who have related work experience upon graduation, and planning events for students and employers. Working very closely with representatives in Career and Professional Development, the assistant/associate director is the liaison among the College's faculty, advisors, and students who communicates important career information. Occasional travel may be required to meet with industry partners and host field trips/tours. Some evening and weekend work required.The position reports to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Affairs.Required Qualifications? Master's degree or bachelor's degree and related experience.? Experience in employer relations or business development.? Project management experience.? Event planning experience.? Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.? Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Preferred Qualifications? Working knowledge of career development and advising.?
