Role Description The Vice President of Construction holds a pivotal leadership position within the organization, tasked with the strategic oversight and management of all vertical construction projects. This role demands a seasoned professional with a proven track record in construction leadership, adept at establishing and enforcing standardized best practices, managing budgets, coordinating multifaceted teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the construction department, and facilitating effective communication with Sales teams to align construction efforts with market demands.
Primary Responsibilities Spearhead the development and implementation of standardized best practices for construction projects. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive project plans and budgets. Oversee the meticulous planning, scheduling, and execution of all vertical construction projects. Leverage expertise to select and manage contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and industry standards, including OSHA compliance. Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, leveraging analytical insights and strategic foresight. Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate seamless project execution. Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the construction department. Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback to direct reports and project teams. Oversee the administration of the company's warranty program and facilitate timely issue resolution. Generate comprehensive reports and communicate project updates to senior leadership and stakeholders. Manage departmental budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Collaborate with Sales teams to understand market demand and ensure construction efforts meet customer expectations. Facilitate effective communication between Construction and Sales teams to optimize project outcomes and customer satisfaction. Required Skills & Traits Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and best practices, with a proven track record of successful project management. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor teams to achieve project goals. Proficiency in technology platforms for project management and scheduling. Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements, including OSHA standards. Strategic mindset with a proven ability to analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions. Results-driven orientation with a relentless commitment to quality and excellence. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Extensive (15+ years) progressive experience in construction leadership roles, with a focus on vertical construction projects. Demonstrated expertise in construction processes, techniques, and best practices. Minimum 2 years experience with a production builder. Proficiency in project management software and technology platforms. Including experience with residential project management software and Design-Build projects. Thorough understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements, including OSHA standards. Experience with cost projection, financial analysis, and budget reviews Experience with Estimating and Budget preparation Experience in Design Build work Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard daytime hours; 8 am - 5 pm. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Job Type: Full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week.
Compensation: $180,000-$250,000 inclusive of bonus

Work Environment: Office based environment with a business casual dress code.
Standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, are used in this role.
Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to talk and hear, stand,walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds, may be necessary. Some travel might be required.
