Company Name: Osseo Job Description Description: A Student Management Specialist helps students, teachers, and parents build and maintain positive relationships. They support student growth and behavior improvement by creating individual strategies. They also work on school-wide systems, structures, and discipline. They are advocates for our community and strongly believe in the potential of our students.
Job Summary: Assists the principal in managing the middle school program; Provides support to teachers and staff who have concerns about student attendance, development, or behavior; Collaborates with guidance counselors, police liaisons, school psychologists, and social workers to meet with students and parents and discuss ways to improve attendance and behavior; Communicates with families through conferences or other communication methods to address attendance and behavior concerns; Addresses student behavior issues in a fair and timely manner and keeps records of disciplinary actions; Monitors the school premises to prevent student vandalism; Assists in implementing programs related to student substance abuse and truancy; Makes recommendations for improving student behavior policies and rules; Participates in discussions to enhance student performance, attendance, and development; Contributes to establishing rules for the in-school suspension/detention room; Responds to written and verbal inquiries regarding student development and discipline; Attends meetings and serves on committees as directed; Takes responsibility in the absence of other administrators; Performs other tasks assigned by the principal within the scope of the position.
