SMS is seeking a Systems Administrator. This position is responsible for providing Tier II/III (Mid) Systems Support/Administration services to Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) - Phillips Research site Information Systems Management (PRsISM) contract.
You will, within a team of up to 5 other Systems Administrators, work with enterprise services to install, configure, and maintain various Enterprise Services at AFRL working within a DoD Cyber security framework. (Windows/Linux OS/Virtualized Appliances)
Additionally, you will manage the Physical Data Center (DC). Responsibilities for this aspect of the position include controlling access to the DC, maintenance (or coordination) of the HVAC, power, space for the DC, inventory, and monthly report generation.

Provide system administration and systems engineering for Windows and Linux-based systems in a DoD environment
Perform, analyze, and remediate weekly security audits
Research, diagnose and resolve complex computer system software and hardware issues as they arise
Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
Implement and enforce local network usage policies and procedures.
Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
Manage system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
Required
You must have or be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (Secret)
You must have or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+, or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT-2 certification
3 or more years of Systems support or administration in an enterprise environment (Windows/Linux)
Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
Knowledge of information technology (IT) security principles and methods (e.g., firewalls, demilitarized zones, encryption).
Knowledge of operating system command line/shell commands.
Ability to script (Powershell/Bash/Python, etc...)
Active Directory and Group Policy Objects configuration, and deployment in enterprise setups.
Supporting critical network services including DNS, DHCP, and Web services.
Knowledge or experience of Virtualization Technologies (Creation, discovery, alerting, troubleshooting, automation, remediation, optimization.)
Preferred
Certifications in technology fields
Demonstrated experience and expertise in analysis, installation, administration, and troubleshooting of all aspects of a client server data network.
Linux Experience (esp. Redhat distributions)
Windows Server/Active Directory Experience
VMWare vSphere/ESXi Experience
Experience with Configuration management platforms (Puppet, SCCM, Ansible, etc)
ITIL or Agile certifications and/or experience
An active DoD Security Clearance
An active CompTIA Security + certification
Experience working on Military, Government, or Research systems in a classified environment
