Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Occasional light lifting and standing may be required.
Shift: Scheduled 10 to 20 hours per week during center hours (M-F 9a-6p); occasional weekend or evening events as needed
Job Summary: This position is only open to undergraduate students at the University of Kentucky. The Office of LGBTQ* Resources is seeking an enthusiastic staff member who assists with general office duties including promotion, preparation and execution of office programs, events and workshops, in addition to participating in regular staff meetings, retreats and trainings. This individual serves as students' first point of contact with our office, as well as ambassadors for LGBTQ programming. Desk staff responsibilities including welcoming and directing guests, answering and directing phone calls, and event promotion. Duties also include scheduling appointments, working with office technology, and maintaining a clean and organized center. Ambassador responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting with marketing tasks such as tabling at special events, serving on student panels, and representing the office during recruitment events.
This position is Federal Work-Study eligible, if you qualify. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication; critical thinking and decision making skills; willing to represent the center at events on and off campus
