International Union of Operating Engineers Stationary Engineer Organizer Based in the Houston, TX area International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 564 is an organizing-focused, member-driven, labor union representing Members throughout Texas.
We are looking for a Stationary Engineer Organizer .
This position is responsible for: Organizing workers in the Houston, TX area. Conducting one-on-one in-person visits, site visits, phone and web-based conversations, meetings, and other interactions with workers. Attending regular meetings with supervisors and teams to discuss progress, plan activities, and connect with colleagues on the campaign Entering assessments and other relevant data on a regular basis Taking direction and incorporating feedback on work activities to accomplish goals Preferred qualifications upon start: Previous labor organizing experience. Need to be in the Houston, TX area Committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Communication skills both verbal and written Competency in basic computer/web functions. Ability to work independently Willingness to potentially work long and irregular hours Ability to commute to and from work sites in the greater Houston area with a valid driver's license and insured vehicle Be motivated, responsible, organized, professional, and detail-oriented Salary and Benefits: Competitive pay.
