Major duties and responsibilities
The Staff Analyst works on a variety of assignments and performs business valuation, and litigation support services for companies in connection with gift and estate tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, buy/sell agreements, shareholder disputes, marital dissolution, and economic damages. Typical responsibilities of the analyst include but are not limited to:

Building financial models with financial projections, discounted cash flow and capitalized cash flow analyses, development of discount rates, market transaction/multiple analysis, and asset valuation analysis.

Gathering and managing data pertinent to the engagement, analyzing, and inputting the data into financial models, and communicating the status of data with other members of the department.

Performing in depth economic and industry research on a wide array of different industries.
+
Benchmarking, financial analysis, identification potential irregularities, etc.
+
Perform forensic accounting procedures and techniques to analyze and understand financial trends and results.
+
Drafting comprehensive valuation and economic damage reports.
+
Project management.
+
Development of client deliverables.
+
Performing ad hoc and administrative projects as needed.
+
Participating in selected administrative committees and functions.
+
Seeking projects when available.
+

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Intermediate/advanced understanding of economics, financial theory and principals of accounting.

Education and Experience Required
+
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics.
+
Candidates must meet educational requirements to sit for and obtain CPA license or other relevant credentials including CFA, ABV, CVA, CFF, or CFE.

At least one (1) year previous industry or business experience.
