The Department of Epidemiology, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health seeks a Sr. Biostatistician to work as an integral part of a long-standing cohort study. The Senior Biostatistician will provide statistical design expertise and data analyses for data derived from a multi-cohort consortia and will participate as a co-author in preparation of manuscripts and presentations reporting study results based on his/her analyses.
The Senior Biostatistician will work independently within the ECHO DAC team in consultation with ECHO investigators at the cohorts and NIH on the formation of statistical designs for studies, drafting statistical analysis plans, conducting data analysis, preparing data tables for publications and presentations at scientific meetings, and writing up the study results and statistical methods. Compliance with procedures in accordance with reproducible research is required.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities Design and execute data analyses, including generation of analysis data sets and design and generation of tables and figures for publication. Contribute to writing and reviewing drafts of reports and manuscripts, including writing up interpretation of analysis results and description of statistical methods used.
Create and maintain documentation of statistical methods and programming code, including associated data dictionaries for derived measures.
Create tables and figures for scientific manuscripts and presentations.
Identify potential problems with study data and collaborate with research team to resolve issues encountered. Assist in preparing materials for and participate in investigators' meetings, staff meetings, etc. Complete other as-needed data programming and analysis. Perform other duties as assigned.
Attend staff meetings and provide updates on status of reports, papers, and other work responsibilities.
Ability to work independently. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills in the preparation and presentation of results

Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or related quantitative field Three years related experience Demonstrated ability on significant graduate project or additional doctoral education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications PhD preferred.
Five or more years' research experience
Experience with advanced methods (e.g., multiple imputation, propensity scores, geospatial analyses, etc.), manuscript and presentation preparation Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Experience in statistical principles and data analysis is required with knowledge of SAS or R. Knowledge of additional specialized software (e.g. SQL, Python, ArcGIS, M-Plus) welcomed. Expertise in geospatial analyses is an asset. Familiarity with publicly available environmental datasets and models.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
