Job Description SummaryWe have a great opportunity for a Sourcing Specialist for our team at GE Aerospace Dayton Cores and Castings (DCC). Our Team is at the cutting edge of ceramics and castings utilizing additive technology to advance the development and manufacturing of airfoils.This position will manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Work with suppliers to ensure capacity, readiness and support future delivery schedules. Engage shop operations team to ensure raw material and indirect supply inventory to support production schedules.GE Aerospace is a world-leading provider of jet engines, components, and integrated systems for commercial and military aircraft. We are a production shop that develops the leading edge of airfoil technology to deliver value through new product introduction and manufacturing industrialization.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:Define and improve Sourcing strategies at plant levelUse prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy/strategyCommunicate with direct colleagues and shop operations team regarding necessary tools and equipmentControl inventory levels and work with indirect providers to meet timelinesLeverage technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problemsPlace compliant purchase orders with suppliers including selecting and setting up suppliersSend out RFQ's, negotiate prices, justify price reasonableness, placement of purchase orders, and obtain supplier purchase order acceptanceManage relationships with suppliers for PO executionManage problems and schedule changesPropose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problemsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in sourcing or procurement).Desired Characteristics:Minimum of 3 years of experience in Supplier Management, Manufacturing, Operations, Production Control, or Supply Chain ManagementAbility to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impactAbility to coordinate several projects simultaneouslyEffective problem identification and solution skillsHumble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn?Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively?Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed ?Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinkerHealthcare benefits include medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage; access to a Health Coach, a 24/7 nurse-based resource; and access to the Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services.
