Position Overview:

This software engineering position is within the Simulation Solutions & Services (SS&S) business area. SS&S develops and builds simulators and training systems for both military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop training all the way up to high fidelity weapon system and full-flight training systems including full visual motion and simulator interoperability (HLA/DIS).

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist in developing detailed software specification sand provide accurate time estimates for the software development

Design, develop, implement, test, and debug real time, multi-threaded, multiprocessing software applications and associated user interfaces

Analyze existing products and provide recommendations and implementation plans for improving existing software designs.

Support and enhance existing software products as necessary

Experience with developing applications Linux/Windows environment; programming languages such as .NET, WPF, C#, C++, C and Python

Experience with software engineering concepts and the software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, test, support)

Visual Studio and Eclipse

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Must have previous experience with C, C++, or C#

Good written and oral communication skills

Active DoD security clearance

Familiar with Linux development

Scripting Languages (Python, Perl, etc.)

Installers (MSI, RPM, DEB etc.)

Source code control (SVN, Git, ClearCase etc.)

Experience with DevSecOps

Experience with Agile methodology

Modeling tools (SysML, Matlab, Simulink, etc.)

The salary range for this role is 59,000 USD - 113,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
