Job Description SummaryJacksonville Products …think outside the engine. As a Shipping Associate you will receive, offload and sort incoming packages while performing visual review and build process kits. Our climate-controlled site has 27 different nationalities, and 9 active employee resource groups.Roles and Responsibilities:Role Summary:Receive, offload and sort incoming packages from carrier delivery trucks and sort incoming mail and operate the mailing system for outgoing US mailScan, pick, build and process kits Perform visual review of parts to ensure correct material picked and is conforming/usable materialStage materials and moveRecognize and address potential quality escapes ( "turnbacks")Essential ResponsibilitiesIn addition, you will:Understand and keep up to date on packaging, shipping, labeling, and specific weight requirementsFollow written work instructions,processes/procedures,and customer manuals regarding material handling and packagingExecute, transact, and view basic ERP transactions (transact labels) for all product (raw materials, sub-components, finished goods and repairs) Responsible for proper packaging of individual and master packaging requirementsEnsure adherence to special handling requirements of parts with cure dates/shelf life/hazmat/MSDS/ESDResponsible for proper inventory of packaging materialsUtilize all types of packaging material and equipmentQualifications/RequirementsActively participate in a teaming environment that uses lean and 5S practices to improve products and processesBasic computer, math and ERP skillsBasic written and verbal communications skillsExperience with material processes in ERP in a manufacturing environment1-year prior stockroom, receiving, shipping, and/or warehouse experienceEligibility Requirements:Ability to frequently lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodationsHigh School diploma or GEDAbility to climb ladders, continuously stand, stoop, and make turning movementsAbility to attain all required certifications of department (walk behind, forklift, electric pallet jack, etc.)Desired Characteristics:Excellent attendance historyStrives to meet or exceed job requirementsBasic blueprintreading/interpretationAdditional InformationGE offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
