**Enterprise Infrastructure, part of IT Services at the University of Iowa, is seeking to hire either a Systems Architect (pay grade 6B) or a Senior Systems Administrator (pay grade 5B). The level and classification will be based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.** Systems Architect: As a valued member of the Enterprise Infrastructure Core Application Services team, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in the design and maintenance of systems using a wide variety of technologies You will also work with a team lead in Enterprise Infrastructure to further advance your technical and leadership skills, build relationships, and lead others through the development of new and existing services. As a Systems Architect, some of your job duties may include:
· Performing a lead role in managing Active Directory and other core services.
· Utilizing automation tools to configure and install applications and services running on Windows Server operating systems to drive efficiency of IT.
· Providing technical expertise to other IT staff on campus regarding AD integration.
· Serving as a go-to expert for troubleshooting and identifying performance issues with campus applications and services
· Overseeing applications and services that may be hosted locally, (on-prem), or in the cloud.
Senior Systems Administrator: As a valued member of the Enterprise Infrastructure Core Application Services team, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of technologies. You will also work with a team lead in Enterprise Infrastructure to develop a mentoring plan to enhance your existing technical skills, build relationships, and incorporate your input and technical skills in the development of new and existing services. As a Senior Systems Administrator, some of your job duties may include:
· Managing Active Directory and other core services as part of a team.
· Utilizing automation tools to configure and install applications and services running on Windows Server operating systems to drive efficiency of IT.
· Troubleshooting and identifying performance issues with campus applications and services.
· Working with complex applications and services that may be hosted locally, (on-prem), or in the cloud.
Information for Both Positions: Occasional off-hours and weekend work will be required along with participation in 24x7 on-call support rotation.

Qualifications: Systems Architect: Required Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent combination of education and additional related experience in technical support.
· Professional support experience (typically 7 years or more) performing the following:
o Supporting Windows Server managing multiple applications in a large organization.
o Installing and supporting two or more of the following: Active Directory, Microsoft Certificate Services, ADFS, Azure AD Connect.
· Extensive knowledge of Active Directory.
· Working knowledge of certificate authorities and certificate validation.
· Extensive knowledge of Windows Security policy.
· Strong willingness and ability to learn new technologies and skills.
· Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
· Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and teamwork skills (including with technical peers.)
Desirable Qualifications: · Extensive experience supporting Microsoft Certificate Services.
· Extensive experience supporting Azure AD (Entra ID) and Microsoft 365.
· Extensive experience writing PowerShell modules.
· Working knowledge of and experience with configuration management using enforced desired state tools such as DSC or Puppet.
· Basic knowledge of the Internet Standards process.
· Working knowledge of and experience using version control technologies (such as git).
Senior Systems Administrator: Required Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent combination of education and additional related experience in technical support.
· Professional support experience (typically 5 years or more) performing the following:
