University's Health Services (UHS) at Florida State University (FSU) envisions a healthy community where every student thrives. Coburn Health and Wellness Center, a 170,000 square-foot multipurpose facility built in 2012. The Health and Wellness Center includes classrooms, a nursing triage clinic, a priority clinic, a fitness center, and a healing garden for personal reflection.
Responsibilities
Perform nursing functions per approved credentialing privileges and nursing protocols. Perform intake of information, vital signs, administer and document procedures, treatments, medications, immunizations, IV infusions, CLIA waived lab tests, and assist with allergy injections. Observe patient for potential side effects and allergic reactions. Assist the clinician in conducting exams and procedures. Assist in educating patients regarding care and schedule discharge appointments. Float as RN in other clinics as assigned.
Perform nursing assessment, and triage of patient based on their physical, emotional and/or mental condition in accordance with established protocols. Document patient assessment, and discharge in the clinical record.
Maintain other records and logs as required. Assist in maintaining medication/supply stock, emergency box, and oxygen supply. Assist in cleaning surgical instruments and the sterilization process.
Attend in-service training programs and other educational workshops. Participate in special projects. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma, nursing diploma, and five years of full-time nursing experience; or an Associate of Science in Nursing and four years of full-time nursing experience; or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and two years of full-time nursing experience; or a Master of Science in Nursing.
A current Registered Nurse license in Florida.
Ability to assess patient condition independently or in consultation. Provide appropriate treatment or referral for treatment.
Knowledge of available medical resources and terminology.
Ability to differentiate emergency from non-emergency situations.
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data, substantiating information, considering and respecting others' input personal values, and ethics.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Position requires pre-employment PPD (TB) and successful completion of post hire OSHA training.

Anticipated Salary Range
