Automotive Purchasing Manager - Drive Excellence in Procurement Join our team as a Purchasing Manager and take the wheel in steering our Direct and Indirect Purchasing activities towards excellence.
What you will do: As our Purchasing Manager, you'll oversee all facets of purchasing activities and Supplier Quality Assurance functions, ensuring site competitiveness and top-notch quality of purchased parts with zero defects. Your role is pivotal in managing the Purchasing team, fostering supplier relationships, and driving performance to meet key indicators.
Responsibilities:
Lead and develop the Purchasing team, ensuring alignment with company expectations and fostering competence growth.
Act as the primary interface during supplier crises, addressing issues related to quality, delivery, and commercial matters.
Drive the Purchasing team to achieve key performance indicators and implement purchasing strategies within budgetary constraints.
Spearhead material productivity initiatives in collaboration with site Management.
Support buyer negotiations with suppliers and validate new supplier introductions.
Mitigate site exposure to supplier base risks and ensure Supplier Integration progress within the site.
Maintain strict compliance with supplier operational data and respond to external quality system audits.
Monitor key performance indicators such as Material Index, Project Material Index, and Minority Business spent to meet budgetary goals.
What you will need: Seven (7) years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial position within the automotive industry.
Self-motivated, well-organized, results-oriented, and a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
