About the Department: The Division of Academic & Student Affairs (DASA) is where students discover connections and community. Resiliency and Community Support is a newly formed team that supports the student experience by aligning several programs and functions that support student well-being, sense of belonging, and promotes a supportive, safe campus environment. These professional staff facilitate NC State's Pack Essentials program that supports students in meeting basic needs. Additionally, the team is charged with supporting signature university events such as Packapalooza and critical functions in support of student success such as follow-up on individual student inquiries, absence verification, and written student complaints. Finally, this team supports the campus resilience operations in response to emergency and crisis situations and provides critical postvention leadership.
Essential Job Duties: Administration Provides vision for the Pack Essentials initiative and oversees the management of the Pack Essentials Hub including establishing priorities and strategic vision for services provided in coordination with campus partners. Supervision of the Pack Essentials staff including a Program Associate, Graduate Assistant, AmeriCorps VISTA, interns, and volunteers. Oversee the management of the Student Emergency Fund, Meal Plan Scholarship, Housing Scholarship, and Meal Share programs. Oversee the management of the Wolfpack Pickup golf cart service. Collect relevant data to articulate students' basic needs as well as work with campus partners to ensure policies and procedures support students' basic needs. Develop fundraising strategy in partnership with Division of Academic and Student Affairs' Development Office to support the Student Emergency Fund Endowment and other scholarship and grant programs that are supported by private donations. Work closely with the student pantry manager to develop robust pantry management systems, including inventory management of produce, shelf-stable food, and essential supplies. Serve on committees, task forces, and work teams as appropriate. Support and Outreach Maintain strong working relationships with campus partners including Scholarships and Financial Aid, Cashiers Office, University Dining, and other related offices. Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and businesses to sustain pantry operations. Develop partnerships with community and local government to connect students to resources that address housing and food insecurity. Responsible for assigning Pack Essentials cases to staff for appropriate follow-up. Manage partnership agreements with both campus and external stakeholders through contracts and memorandums of understanding/agreements. Assist with responding to Pack Essentials applications and connecting students to appropriate campus and community resources. Other Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience: Requires post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience. Other Required Qualifications: Experience working in higher education is preferred. Effective leadership skills, with the ability to supervise, train, and mentor. Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain campus and external partnerships. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in student affairs, higher education, or related field preferred.
