Job Summary The IT Principal Architect plays a crucial role in shaping Client's technological landscape by providing strategic direction, designing innovative solutions, and leading architectural initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including senior stakeholders, to align IT strategies with business objectives and drive the successful delivery of complex projects
Job Description Develop and drive the overall IT architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, industry best practices, and emerging technologies Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure enterprise-wide solutions, encompassing applications, infrastructure, data, and integration layers Lead the planning, design, and execution of VMWare migration initiatives, ensuring seamless migration of on-premises VMWare workloads to the cloud environment Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to project teams, ensuring adherence to established architecture principles, standards, and guidelines Collaborate with business stakeholders and senior executives to understand their requirements, define architectural roadmaps, and recommend innovative solutions that address business challenges Conduct research and analysis of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for architectural improvements and innovation Evaluate and participate in the selection of third-party vendors and technology solutions, conducting thorough assessments and due diligence to ensure compatibility with the overall architecture and strategic objectives Define and enforce architecture governance processes, including the Architecture Review Board and documenting processes and standards, to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across IT projects Lead the creation and maintenance of architectural documentation, including solution design documentation, diagrams, guidelines, and policies, to facilitate knowledge sharing and enable effective decision-making Mentor and coach junior architects, engineers and other technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation within the architecture team Collaborate with other IT teams, such as security and business solutions to ensure the overall integrity, scalability, and performance of the IT ecosystem This is a senior-level position that requires a deep understanding of enterprise architecture, technology trends, and the ability to translate business needs into robust technical solutions Skills Required Proven experience (5+ years) as an IT architect, with a focus on enterprise-level architecture and strategic planning The ability to demonstrate Client's Values & Absolutes which are; Customer Intimacy, Team Before Self, Commitment & Accountability, Speed Excellence & Innovation Strong expertise in designing and implementing complex enterprise solutions with modern technologies and frameworks - particularly Azure, Azure AD, Hyperconverged technologies such as Nutanix, Terraform, etc Experience with migration of on prem technologies to cloud platforms, with an emphasis on migrating VMWare environments to Azure Experience and familiarity with networking design and architecture especially with SD-WAN Strong understanding of security, privacy, and compliance requirements in enterprise environments, including data protection, identity management, and regulatory frameworks Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems, identify critical issues, and propose effective solutions Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading architectural initiatives and driving organizational change An ownership mentality with assigned projects, a proven ability to coordinate with other technical team members, project managers, vendors and others to insure continual progress and successful completion of those projects Familiarity with SOX compliance, ITAR compliance, NIST and other regulatory frameworks is desirable Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, are desirable
Education/Training/Certifications Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience Additional Requirements The candidate must be a US person qualified to work in ITAR environments Remote job Pay Rate/Salary $42.31 - $63.46/hr depending on experience.
