We are seeking a Phlebotomist , lab assistant.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities Degree of independent action.
Collect blood specimens.
Work with a repository of frozen specimens for epidemiological studies of infectious diseases
Perform phlebotomy at the study clinic.
Enter data and generate Quest reports.
ships specimens to testing lab.
Requires extensive phlebotomy skills.
Must have basic computer knowledge.
Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee may remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) up to 50% of the time.
Occasionally required to traverse throughout the laboratory or to retrieve equipment, supplies, or specimens from other locations on and off campus.
The employee is required to operate computer keyboard, laboratory instruments, and small laboratory tools such as needles and/or slides.
Constantly repositions self to perform duties at workstations, gathering specimens, and loading equipment.
Prolonged vision requirements including viewing computer screen, paper reports/documents.
May transport equipment and supplies usually less than 40 pounds from one area to another (in the laboratory or on campus from one building to another (e.g. supplies and equipment needing sterilization by autoclaving).
Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED.
Phlebotomy training and demonstrated proficiency completing blood draw.
Preferred Qualifications Centrifuge, pipet aid, phlebotomy Sterile technique, Universal precautions.
Experience in conducting phlebotomy procedures.
Experience in lab transmittals.
Certification as a registered Phlebotomist by a nationally recognized agency is preferred: e.g., National Center for Competency Testing, American Medical Technologist, American Society for Clinical Pathology, American Society for Clinical Pathology, American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians, national Phlebotomy Association.
Basic computer skills required.

Starting Salary Range: Min $15.25 - Max $23.00 HRLY ($9,361 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
