Read more:careers.bms.com/working-with-us .The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner will provide advanced practice nursing services including examinations for Cal/OSHA, BMS specified, medical surveillance and travel health programs, occupational injury/illness care, and acute care of episodic non-occupational injuries/illnesses.This position is responsible for supporting a comprehensive occupational health program for the BMS San Diego sites. This program complies with BMS corporate standards as well as federal and state occupational health and safety regulations and laws. The position will be located in the medical clinic at the BMS San Diego site. This position will report directly to the Bristol Myers Squibb Corporate Medical Director, Occupational Health. The Nurse Practitioner is expected to work closely with the San Diego Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources, and site management teams.Responsibilities:Develop and implement objectives for San Diego Occupational Health services that are aligned with the company corporate and occupational health goals and objectives.Collaborate directly with the OH Medical Director as needed on case management, employment issues and standard compliance, including work restrictions and job accommodations.Collaborate with management, EHS, and other teams to implement occupational health and safety standards for San Diego, including risk assessments for safety sensitive positions with development of appropriate medical surveillance programs.Provide clinical services to the employees at San Diego. This includes examination, diagnosis and treatment where appropriate, including prescriptions when indicated.Provide medical surveillance exams and testing when needed, including ECG, audiometry, vision, spirometry and phlebotomy.Work with BMS disability and worker's compensation insurance providers in case managing occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, and short- and long-term disability claims.Investigate, monitor, and analyze illness and injury episodes and trends; develop strategies to promote and protect employee health and safety and prevent injury, including ergonomic programs.Plan and promote company-wide and site-based health and wellbeing programs in collaboration with other Occupational Health and Wellbeing team members.Position Requirements:Licensed as RNNP-C in California preferred.DNP or MSN degreeEligibility to practice as a nurse practitioner independently (at least 3 years of full time NP practice)Experience in occupational health preferred, as well as COHN-SGood interpersonal/communication skillsComputer skill proficiency, including experience using electronic medical record programs.The starting compensation for this job in California (CA) is a range from $121,000 - $152,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
