JOB SUMMARYWe are looking forMine Paramedicswho will compassionately deliver high-quality service and basic patient care in a professional, caring, and cost-effective manner.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following list represents the primary responsibilities of a Mine Paramedic. The relative importance of these responsibilities may vary from region to region and should be discussed by each Paramedic with his/her supervisor.Evaluates, treats, and stabilizes routine and urgent patients within the scope of practice and standing orders established by the sponsoring physician (Paramedic), with expanded scope responsibilitiesConsult with Medical Director as neededAdminister over the counter medicationsOrdering/restocking of medical suppliesMedical health screeningsAdministering flu shots and maintain proper documentationRestocking of First Aid BagsRestock Stoke BasketsRestock First-Aid KitsAssess each call situation to determine best course of action and appropriateUtilize medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, CPR and other procedures and medications as required to provide advanced medical Develop and utilize triage skills to provide optimal efficiency duringProvide patient care according to clinical protocols and safetyLift and move patients as required to provide optimumAct as team leader and take responsibility for scene management as Monitor and maintain the general condition of the work area, keep it clean and stocked to maintain the image of Guardian Flight and Must stay current with advanced training, instructor credentials, and continuing Must successfully complete and remain current with MSHA required courses, participate in mine rescue drills; and must maintain all mine safety policies and complete all safety training.Ability to function independently and be a self-starter in isolated locations that have poor communication and no support QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED).Must be at least 18 years of agePossess a valid Driver's LicenseCurrent State of Nevada Paramedic CertificationDriving record in compliance with GMR policy regarding insurabilityMinimum 5 years' experience as a Paramedic, with the ability to function beyond the typical "street environment," where treatment may be the priority not transportPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAvailable to work extended shifts at remote mine sitesAbility to climb a 75-foot vertical ladder with 50 of gearMUST be able to work underground in a hot and humidGUIDING VALUES AND BEHAVIORSEmployee must consistently exhibit our guiding principles:Patient Care -We continually earn the privilege to care for our It is at the forefrant of everything we do.One Team - We respect each other and achieve together what no individual can aloneInnovation - We are driven to develop solutions that inspire progressVigilance - We will never waver in our commitment to safety and preparedness in the fulfillment of our dutiesOwnership - We are accountable for what we do and take pride in how we do itCitizenship -We are dedicated to being good stewards in the communities we serveEEO StatementGlobal Medical Response and its family of companies are an Equal Opportunity Employer, which includes supporting veterans and providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with a disability.
