Careers that Change LivesDo meaningful work, make a difference, and improve lives — starting with your own.  As the Manufacturing Manager in our Plymouth Nathan Lane, Minnesota site, you will lead the assigned Value Stream and serve as the resource for continuously improving the site's execution.We look for leaders who have a clear vision of where we are going and how to get there, bold inclusive thinkers who create new ideas and bring our best solutions forward to benefit our patients, business partners, and customers. They Plymouth Nathan Lane site is part of the Peripheral Vascular Health business unit, that offers treatment for vascular abdominal and thoracic aortic disease and interventional devices used to treat Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) through catheter-based procedures and diagnostic technologies.https://www.medtronic.com/us-en/healthcare-professionals/products/cardiovascular/peripheral-vascular.htmlA Day in the LifeResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.As the Manufacturing Manager, you will lead the Manufacturing team while driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, service, financial performance, and operating efficiency while creating and ensuring the right culture for our employees.  You will join the Central Region Manufacturing organization to support business objectives related to Peripheral Vascular Health.  The primary focus of this role is to support the manufacturing of therapeutic devices for customers, patients, and stakeholders.You will use your leadership skills to implement and execute Medtronic Performance System (MPS) standards and deliverables related to process and product quality standards and product delivery.You will:Lead Operations and cross-functional partners in achieving performance targets and pursuing continuous improvementWork with Global Supply Chain to meet the Product Availability and Back Order goalsSet clear objectives, evaluate progress against objectives, and instill a performance-oriented culture with a focus on accountability.Provide resource priority guidance to engineering groups through analysis of current and future workload and skill availability.Champion the integration of MPS standards through coaching, training, and practice.Emphasize a proactive approach to achieve optimal manufacturing targets prior to high-volume productionPartner with research and technology to ensure technologies are capable prior to transfer to development. Support operations strategic planning to ensure alignment with strategic business direction and review the voice of the customer dataEnsure functional standards and procedures are followedReview and support new project specifications, resource estimates, and schedulingPrioritize technical development activities with stakeholders based on strategic and tactical importance to the organization.Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelors degree requiredMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceNice to HaveExperience working in a highly matrixed manufacturing organization managing multiple priorities, often under deadline.Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening) with all levels of the organization.   Ability to facilitate meetings, create and deliver presentations, and drive meetings to action-oriented decisions.Proficiency in MS Office applications, with very strong Microsoft Excel skills.Familiarity working in ERP and MES systemsProcess Engineering aptitude and Gemba experienceData analysis capabilities within SAP, JDE and various ERP systemsEnthusiasm towards process improvements and change managementExperience with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve complex goalsDemonstrated LEAN manufacturing deployment and execution gainsMetals manufacturing and capital-intense manufacturing processesExperience managing 24-hour operations5 years experience in manufacturing leadership rolesExperience in medical manufacturing under FDA/GMP conditions in a manufacturing environment, preferably medical devicesExcellent personal, organizational, and leadership skillsAbility to lead DMAIC A3 problem solving processesAbility to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesAbility to recognize and support site prioritiesAbility to establish relationships and develop beneficial networks outside of the value streamAbout MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
