Duties
This position is located in a Division Headquarters of the Army National Guard (ARNG). The purpose of the position is to administer the logistical activities of the Division.


Work involves performing or supervising staff work in planning and coordinating logistical support activities to provide the money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support a specified mission at the time and place they are needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. Qualifications THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC):


Area of Consideration: This position is open to Area 1 Only.



Area 1: Current employees (Tenure 1 and 2 / internal to the Agency)

Area 2: All other applicants (external to the Agency)
* Note- Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1.


For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.



MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:


Incumbent is subject to uncommon tours of duty, rotational shift assignments and overtime duty, for which compensatory time off will be granted. May be required to fly in military or commercial aircraft for TDY purposes.


1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.


2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.


3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.


4. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.


5. The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. Education Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.
