The Middleton School of Entrepreneurship & Management in the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration (NCoBPA) at the University of North Dakota seeks to fill a full-time Lecturer of Human Resource Management position. It is expected that this individual will teach a variety of courses in Human Resource Management as well as related topics, such as Organizational Behavior and Principles of Management.
Duties & Responsibilities Teaching: The anticipated teaching load is four (4) sections/courses per semester during the academic year (fall and spring semesters). Courses may include Human Resources Management, specialized Human Resources Management courses, Organizational Behavior, Principles of Management, and other management courses, depending upon need and faculty qualifications. Course delivery modes will include on-campus teaching, hybrid (live+online), and fully online. Service: Service is expected and may include service to the Middleton School of Entrepreneurship & Management, the Nistler College of Business & Public Administration, UND, and appropriate professions. Ongoing professional service and engagement are expected as well to maintain faculty qualifications as outlined in the Nistler College Faculty handbook. This position may also be expected to advise student groups (e.g., SHRM). Required Competencies Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with others. Minimum Requirements Earned master's degree in Human Resource Management or a closely related field (MBAs will be considered) obtained from an AACSB accredited program. For degrees from non-US institutions, an applicant must provide evidence of knowledge of US HR law (e.g. SHRM/HRCI certification or significant US human resource management work experience). Experience teaching Human Resource Management and, or Management in either an academic or professional context (e.g., training and development instruction/coaching in a professional context would qualify). Successful completion of criminal history records check. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment. Preferred Qualifications Work/professional experience in Human Resource Management or general management is desirable. A focus on Human Resource Management is preferred. The applicant should clearly articulate their relevant professional experience in their application materials. A written summary describing the applicant's quality of teaching should be provided with the application in addition to documentation or evidence in support of their teaching accomplishments. The most recent 3 years of student, peer and supervisory teaching evaluations should be provided with the application. Documentation of teaching excellence is not limited to evaluations of teaching in an academic context: evidence of teaching excellence can include samples of teaching materials, as well as professional evaluations from customers, clients, peers, and, or supervisors, etc. Experience with experiential, high-impact, and/or other active learning practices. Applicants should provide a summary and documentation/evidence of leading teaching practices. Experience teaching in online, in-person and hybrid contexts is preferred, as is experience teaching at different levels (e.g. undergraduate, graduate, professional, other).
