Required Education: A professional degree in interior design or related field (BA, BS, MA, MS, M.Arch). Nationally or internationally recognized work may be considered as a substitution for a professional degree. Required Related Experience: Evidence of design excellence as well as an awareness and understanding of issues in interior design practice and academia, including social justice and equity.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of students, faculty, staff, and constituencies as we grow toward a more multi-ethnic and multicultural community.

Required License/Registration/Certification: NCIDQ certification or interest in obtaining certification Job Summary: The School of Interiors in the College of Design at the University of Kentucky is accepting applications for a Lecturer Title Series (non-tenure-eligible) faculty position, from individuals who are passionate about design education and practice and who think broadly about its capacity and application. The position is open to a wide range of specializations, including endeavors on the fringes of the field. While teaching experience in higher education is preferred, experiences not conventional to academic settings are also considered valuable. This position is a 9-month appointment with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024, and initial appointment period of two (2) years to end May 15, 2026. Job Summary

Joining the College of Design School of Interiors provides a unique opportunity for a dynamic and collaborative educator to help the school meet its mission by inspiring future design talent and promoting a culture of inclusion and equity through excellent teaching and exemplary service. In our 50th year as a program, the School of Interiors is poised for significant growth and change as we look ahead to a state-of-the-art facility, designed by world-renowned architect and MacArthur Fellow, Jeanne Gang, which we will occupy along with the rest of the College and Landscape Architecture by mid-2024. Within this context, the school aspires to improve rich academic traditions within a rigorous design curriculum through support of diverse individuals and intellectual approaches.
As a Lecturer and member of the School of Interiors faculty, the candidate will teach undergraduate studio courses and lecture/seminar courses, engage in School service commitments, and be an active presence in the school and in the design community. As a land-grant institution, university and professional service are an expectation.
