IT Data Architect Objective To provide advanced technical support in the research, analysis and application of systems technology, including data architecture, integration capabilities and database management. To provide technical and data leadership to development, production support and business teams. To maintain awareness of current and future technologies, and have responsibility for guiding the organization in how to use current and future technologies to advance business initiatives.
IT Data Architect Responsibilities Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with division leadership and data owners. Design database solutions to satisfy business and technical requirements.
Design, build and maintain conceptual, logical and physical database models. Be responsible for the planning and design of database conversions, migrations, integrations, maintenance, optimization, and production monitoring processes.
Have the ability to conceive and portray the data picture in easy to understand language. Be well versed in data technologies, including data warehouse, big data, advanced analytics, data visualization, and data virtualization. Be able to work with structured and unstructured data.
IT Data Architect Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required, or equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum eight years database administration or data architecture experience required. Hands-on experience with current versions of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and writing relational and multi-dimensional queries required.
Ability to understand complex business problems and apply data solutions required.
Knowledge and use of computer database concepts and administration, hardware, operating systems, system software, program language(s) and tools, and testing techniques and tools required.
Ability to communicate verbally and in written form in a clear and concise manner required.
Willingness to pursue continuing job related training and education in technology or insurance required. Completion of 7 Habits of Highly Successful People course required.
Preferred Prior experience at an insurance company or on projects for an insurance company preferred.
Designations in AINS, FLMI and/or AIDM preferred.
Designation in MCSE: Data Platform preferred.
Knowledge/experience with Cloud Data preferred.
Note: This is a Hybrid position working both from the Farm Bureau Home Office located in Lansing, Michigan and remotely. Farm Bureau offers a full benefit package including medical, dental, vision, and 401K. PM19
