Job Summary The HR Generalist will report to the President and be part of the leadership team giving guidance and coaching to management as well as engaging with all members of our staff. They should be extremely organized, able to multi-task, problem solve and innovative. The HR Generalist must have excellent communication skills and must be self-directed able to work individually and as a team.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties The Human Resources Generalist must be able to complete the following tasks/activities:
HR Duties Effectively hire and onboard new employees Stay in compliance with I9s Effectively off-board employees whether voluntary or involuntary General personnel issues (disciplinary as needed) Employee issues and documentation Create and maintain annual process including goal setting Maintain Employee Handbook and policies Create and maintain Organizational Chart Create and maintain Job Descriptions and document backups for that role (cross-training) Advise management on new ideas or policies Organize new hire trainings Oversee Worker's Compensation Process Payroll Duties Input new employees into payroll system Maintain accurate records and documentation Run payroll every other Monday (direct deposit + physical checks) Timesheet review daily Child Support and Garnishments- deduct from employee paycheck Benefits and 401k administration- ensure that eligible employees are enrolled in benefits within their first 90 days or during open enrollment Employee Relations and Engagement Promote company values and a strong organizational work culture Foster a positive work environment by recommending and implementing select, effective employee engagement initiatives Address employee concerns and grievances Qualifications 2 or 4 year degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or other related field is required 2-5 years of HR experience preferred Knowledge of labor laws, safety regulations, and industry-specific HR practices Proficiency in QuickBooks preferred Collaboration- ability to work with employees at all levels and across all functions to identity opportunities or issues and to resolve them in an effective manner Schedule The normal schedule is 7am-4pm, Mondays-Fridays
