Your deep and broad industry knowledge allows you to foresee external conditions that could potentially affect AIG's future.Key accountabilities:Manages all Divisional Underwriting for AIG's Midwest and West regions, and national scope (South Central, Southeast, Midwest, West, and Northeast regions) for the Mining line, and establishes, implements and evaluates production and profitability goals.Direct accountability for the business results for the Midwest and West regions and the US mining line with respect to profitability, penetration and/or volume.Responsible for developing strategic client and broker relationships.Represents AIG at industry events and seeks opportunities for speaking engagements to further AIG's reputation in the Energy and Mining space.In partnership with the Global Product Line Executive - Mining, drive and execute the long-term business strategy for the US.Serve as a technical expert, exercising technical authority with regards to the Mining line within NA Energy.Within US, manage annual budget process for the Midwest and West regions, and the Mining line.Within US, manage monthly forecasts for the Midwest and West regions, and the Mining line.Oversee multiple managers and senior underwriters; makes decisions regarding pay, performance management, development, employment, and staffing.In collaboration the NA Head of Energy, the Global Product Line Executive and HR, implement tools and strategies to attract and retain top industry talent and develop high performing teams.Identify areas/positions within zone that lack sufficient bench strength, and employees who require additional skills to fill those needs; develop and execute development/training/recruiting platforms/plans to address the deficiencies.Establish strong relationships with all members of the zonal leadership teams; create mutual understanding of overall parameters and goals to drive effective execution of business model.Interact with all levels of Insurance community.Drive a culture that promotes collaboration, diversity, and inclusion.Establish the operational direction for the region to ensure efficiencies coincide with growth objectives.Ensures the required standards of governance, systems and controls, and regulatory compliance are established and maintained.LEADERSHIP SKILLS:Strategic orientation, managing vision and purpose, developing organizational capability.Talent assessment and development for bench strength and succession planning.Proven collaborative leadership skills.Strong influencing and communications skills and ability to work across multiple areas of company and industries.Change management and team leadership.External thought leadership.TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:Broad based insurance industry experiencePreferred minimum of 15+ years of insurance operational management experienceKnowledge of Energy market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and distributionProcess and system skillsStrategic orientation, managing vision and purpose, developing organizational capabilityStrong influencing and communications skills and ability to work across multiple areas of company and industriesChange and team leadership, as well as, external thought leadership#LI-PB1A look at our BenefitsWe're proud to offer a range of employee benefits and resources that help you protect what matters most - your health care, savings, financial protection and wellbeing.
