Purpose of Role:

ESCO's Design Engineer (Global Tooling) contributes to accelerating ESCO's manufacturing and design process by designing safe, functional, and innovative pattern tooling for our manufacturing facilities worldwide.
We envision our team as trusted experts in rapid tooling design and casting technology advancement. We foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation while primarily supporting new product design and manufacturing optimization using the DMEDI and DMAIC processes.
This role requires a solid understanding of material science, metallurgy, CAD, data-based decision making, and complex CAD modelling.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop new pattern tooling design concepts in 3D CAD and predict effectiveness using computational methods and simulation software; document/leverage learning into future designs
Collaborate with product design engineers, manufacturing facilities, and suppliers to ensure products meet quality and delivery requirements
Validate and adjust designs using first article inspection data
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement using quantitative metrics; assist manufacturing in optimizing existing designs to improve quality and reduce cost

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
Understand (and have interest in) Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
Ability to travel up to 15% (domestic and international)
Must be authorized to permanently work in the United States
