Their primary focus will be recruitment and generalist support for the KnightHR team. They will be willing to support any request across from the team to help move business initiatives forward. This role will report to the SR HR Manager at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute.
Key Responsibilities: Faculty and Staff Recruitment Associate - Manage recruiting and staffing efforts for Faculty and Staff positions by partnering with hiring managers. Source and screen applicants, check references, and send offers of employment. Research, interview, select, and manage relationships with staffing firms and agencies as needed. Advise on appropriate avenues and post jobs to external sites. Department Coordination – Act as the primary coordinator support across the OHSU KnightHR team to ensure that requests and tasks are being completed promptly. Act a back-up across the team to ensure there is always coverage. Ability to learn and develop quick-thinking skills to move quickly through all processes. Act as fill-in recruiter across various role. Support the development of programs across the KnightHR team. Visa Management Program – Act as the in-house support for the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. Process all visa requests across the Knight Cancer Institute. Able to find information on various requests. Regularly meet or sync with the OIA to ensure a strong partnership with the Visa office. Support the improvement of the KNIGHTHR Visa Process document. Partner with KnightHR team to develop automation, triaging, and helpful resources for employees at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. Special projects as assigned Education & experience: Bachelor's degree in relevant field. 2 years of increasingly responsible human resources experience. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of Federal, State and local labor laws, as well as compensation principles. Working knowledge of OHSU personnel and payroll policies and procedures. Working knowledge of Oracle, Discoverer, SharePoint, Kronos, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Survey Monkey, Chequed.com, Qualtrics and Pcard reconciliation. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; demonstrated exemplary tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive issues and individuals at all levels. Demonstrated skill in counseling techniques with sensitivity sufficient to assist in confidential circumstances, and the resolution of problems and conflicts. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time. Must have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems. Must be proficient with computers running Windows and PC applications e.g. MS Excel, Oracle, Access, Word and PowerPoint). Typing 60wpm Must have demonstrated excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in person. Must possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships. Education & experience: Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training. Experience with visa processing, especially H1-B or J-1. Experience using LinkedIn and other Social Media platforms to promote vacancies. Recruitment or staffing experience that includes one additional or concurrent year of experience which demonstrates experience proactively sourcing candidates for hard to fill positions. Experience within the healthcare industry that demonstrates familiarity with the variety of healthcare positions. Previous experience with IT and Scientific recruitments. Previous experience with event coordination such as career fairs. Previous experience administering programs related to employee customer service and retention.
