Now hiring an Equipment Tech-I 
Responsible for distribution of durable medical equipment (DME) to user-departments, ensuring the equipment is functional and clean and that adequate quantities are on hand , and facilitating the patient charging process for DME and related accessories.

High school diploma.GED 6 months experience in healthcare supply chain operations preferred Education: Essential: High School Diploma or GED Support processes to maintain adequate quantities of DME to support patient care and operational needs Monitor par levels of DME on nursing units and user-departments to ensure needs are met, replenish as needed Answer phone calls and respond to Vocera or pager requests for equipment support; distribute DME to requesting departments in a timely manner Recommend par level revisions as needed based on usage patterns and patient volumes Facilitate patient charging for DME and accessory supplies Monitor Preventative Maintenance (PMS) schedules to support PMs are conducted timely and appropriately, and are recorded accurately Support process to ensure rentals are returned timely when owned equipment is available Perform equipment cleaning procedures: Oversee and perform equipment cleaning procedures:
-Clean and disinfect returned equipment utilizing detergent disinfectant, and reassembled
-Perform cleaning using vinyl gloves, safety mask with eye shield, and gowns for protection.
-Remove any tape and tape adhesive by using a dry cloth with specialty gum adhesive remover.
-Wipe down DME thoroughly and ensure that connectors for hoses (non-electrical connectors) are wiped, and all ancillary parts removed.
-Reassemble equipment and inspect for frayed plugs, wires, lose or broken case and handles look for damage or abuse.
-Check Preventative Maintenance (PM) due date sticker , send any equipment close to PM date for servicing.
-If the equipment is not functional, affix red tag and place on Bio Med department shelf for pick up and repair
-Place all clean and functional equipment in its designated area on shelf, charge DME , and prepare for distribution. Report need to order rental equipment as needed, based on volume of repairs and unusable equipment needing replacement Retrieve damaged/unusable DME from units, record in retrieval log, label as damaged (red tag) with a reason for malfunction, return the DME to the SES room, clean DME and place it on the Bio Med shelf for pick up, enter Date/Time/CTS number in the BIO MED Repair Tracking log. When repaired DME is returned, enter Returned From Bio-Med , date and time in the log Ensure 100% compliance with all Federal and State healthcare regulations, TJC standards, and PHS Policies and Procedures Support Supply Chain s emergency/disaster preparedness and response, and support PHS Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) efforts; ensure all staff members are prepared Support holding key supply chain suppliers accountable for service standards, e.g., DME suppliers, courier services, DME manufacturers, accessory supplies distributor, etc. All benefits-eligible Presbyterian employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, group term life insurance and other optional voluntary benefits.
