The successful candidate is responsible for assisting with general administration and management of NGM water rights and various water resource tasks.At Nevada Gold Mines, our vision is to be the world's most valued gold mining business by finding, developing, and operating the best assets with the best people. We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.Responsibilities:Primary responsibility will be to assist in the management of water rights for all NGM properties as directed by Water Resources Engineer.Maintain, enhance, and protect NGM's interests in water and ensure no water rights are inadvertently lost, diminished or otherwise forfeited. Prepare draft state water rights administrative forms and applications. (Example: Proof of Completion and Beneficial Use, Extensions of Time, Reports of Conveyance, monthly pumpage reports). Final submission to the Nevada Division of Water Resources will be based upon final approval by the Water Resources Engineer so timely submission of reports to the Water Resource Engineer is required prior to the deadlines defined in water right permit terms.Track and organize water right permits, deeds, agreements, and dataUpdate and manage electronic water rights, wells, and usage databases as necessary for the management of the NGM's water rightsCollect, generate, and compile data required for routine reporting. This includes collection of data in the field and from various water users by deadlines defined by water rights permit termsAssist site operations in reporting of groundwater and surface water monitoring plans.Qualifications:No technical education required Basic level of experience with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience with GIS and various database platforms is preferred.The applicant must have the ability to read, understand, and participate in the preparation of legal descriptions of water rights, real property, easements, and water rights mapsThe applicant must be highly organized and detail oriented in order to prioritize work to meet deadlines defined by Water Resources Engineer and water rights permit termsThe applicant must have the ability to work independently while being able to effectively communicate NGM's interests with fellow employees, consultants, and other water users, both orally and in writingValid driver's license with a clean driver recordStrict adherence to safety protocol and a commitment to maintain a safe work environmentCompile information for water right and well drilling filings Maintain accurate database of NGM water rights, water usage, and well logs Keep track of water right obligations and ensure timely completion Perform administrative tasks including managing mail, documenting regulatory correspondence, and paying invoices Collect routine totalizer readings from ranch production wells Collect water levels and data from offsite monitoring wells Perform field investigations by obtaining pictures, coordinates, and flow measurements from various underground and surface water sources What We Can Offer YouA comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution AND employer match, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.Endless opportunities to grow and learn with industry colleagues.
