Diesel Mechanic/TechnicianPayne + Dolan, Inc., A Walbec Group CompanyExciting career in road, highway, and bridge construction
Job seniority: entry level
Responsibilities
• Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine machine or vehicle condition• Complete preventive maintenance schedules and winterization procedures• Repair and replace major assemblies, components, and parts• Conduct test drives and verify proper performance• Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements• Maintain vehicle records and perform shop equipment maintenance• Use mobile service truck for field service calls• Participate in educational opportunities and stay updated on technical information• Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record (CDL required or ability to obtain)• Two to three years of prior work experience on heavy duty trucks and diesel engines• Own tools up to ½ drive and experience with diagnostics• High School diploma and vocational training/certification preferred• Strong technical understanding and problem-solving skills• Adaptable and willing to learn• Experience documenting repairs and utilizing a parts-ordering system• Motivated, punctual and dependable self-starter with good communication skills• Ability to work varied hours and tolerate heavy shop environment
