Introduction The Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Enterprise Services (DES), is recruiting to fill a Desktop Support Supervisor in the Bureau of Information Technology Services, (BITS).

This is a hybrid position that offers the option to work remotely up to 3 days per week with the other 2 days in the office. Specific schedule will be discussed further if presented a job offer. The headquarters for this position is 1 W. Wilson Street in Madison, Wisconsin. DHS is located in the heart of downtown Madison, near the State Capitol, the Madison Metro route and the Capital City bike path.
Position Summary The Desktop Management and Support Section (DMAS) consists of the Desktop Application and the Desktop Support Teams. The Desktop Support Team supports DHS desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, and other desktop peripherals. The Desktop Application Team supports desktop application deployment and patching of all DHS Microsoft Windows based PCs. The section also operates in close partnership with other BITS teams and functions such as information security, project management, and technical operations.
As the Desktop Support Supervisor, you will work in partnership with the Section Manager to oversee Section services and resources. You will:
Manage day-to-day desktop support, desktop patching and application packaging activities including direct supervision of permanent, temporary, and contract staff, as well as oversight of other DMAS staff work. Be responsible for proactive relationship building with DHS business areas, and ensuring timely response to incidents, requests, and project deliverables. Build and support the team including supporting processes while holding staff accountable to best practices and quality standards that will provide value to our customers. Salary Information The starting pay is between $52.00 and $57.00 per hour (approximately between $108,100 and $118,500 per year), depending on experience and qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as an IS Supervisor 2 and is in pay schedule and range 70-02.

Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
Experience supporting desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, and/or other desktop peripherals. Experience leading or managing the workload of two or more employees. Experience facilitating team meetings, discussions, or information sharing meetings. Experience developing and/or implementing IT policy, processes, or procedures. In addition, highly qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
Experience assisting with IT audits. Experience making hiring decisions, onboarding and/or offboarding of permanent, temporary, and/or contract employees. Experience working with staff development and staff training tools, and/or staff training plans. Experience developing and/or implementing software patching processes.
