Job Overview: We are looking for a Dedicated Operations Supervisor to join our Dedicated Operations team. The Dedicated Operations Supervisor maintains the daily operations of the assigned Dedicated On-Site Operation. The focus will include Company Policy Compliance, Customer Service, Safety, Productivity and Profitability while still adhering to the terms of the signed contract between Epes Transport System, LLC and the assigned Dedicated Customer. This position will require flexible hours and must be willing to work nights and/or weekends if requested.
Qualifications: College degree preferred. Relevant experience considered. Basic data entry skills-accuracy important Ability to work independently; take initiative and be a self-starter. Ability to plan and organize workload; flexibility to handle pressure and work with interruptions and meet deadlines; attention to detail. Ability to pass pre-employment drug test. No conviction of felonies, serious crimes, or have charges pending- However, conviction is not an automatic disqualification of employment. Professional, clean, neat appearance Occasional travel in job as required. Flexibility to work varied hours and shifts if necessary. Responsibilities: Serves as a liaison between the assigned Customer, management, and Epes Transport System. Works on site at customer location to coordinate the daily operations of the assigned dedicated account. Coordinates with both internal and external customers to determine and fill needs for drivers and equipment. Plans and schedules drivers per the customer's requirement(s). Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable. Review operating metrics such as pay as a percentage of revenue, Rev/Driver/Day, MPG, Aging, etc. and fix out of tolerance results. Understand the P&L and financial health of the operation, helps to identify profitability issues resolving with customer and manager. Helps prepare payroll and billing, complete and update PO and authorizations for repairs in Fleet Insight, and contest maintenance charges when needed. Monitor outside vendor billing for accuracy and compliance with negotiated rates. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, billing procedures, customer billback for damaged equipment, etc. Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability. Closely manage associates working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed. Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provide counseling and/or recognition. Supervise logistics operations including customer service, dispatch, planning, customer service, and proper documentation and procedure control. Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of dispatch/logistics operations. Assist in new associate training. Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from their shift. Work with local PTL locations to ensure PM compliance of 97.5 percent or greater on all equipment. Train and counsel drivers on safety, hours of service requirements, workers' compensation and other overall company policies while adhering to the contract requirements. Provide Associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance. Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are in alignment with the location safety strategy. Promotes compliance with regulatory requirements and Epes Safety Programs, policies, and procedures. Understand the location specific customer goals and objections, operational processes, and data flow. Collaborate with the customer to ensure that they understand that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives. Stay current on the customer's industry and their performance. Determine what areas could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts while looking for opportunities to grow the existing operation or other locations. Ensure proper operating authority and permits are in place for units. Helps manage vacation and time-off requests for drivers based on company and customer needs. Provide billing, payroll information and special reporting requirements related to the dedicated business and the customer requests. Coordinates with the Recruiting Department and Safety Department to assist and ensure that candidates are informed and are prepared to join the Dedicated Operations Department. Involved with Orientation of personnel as necessary. Demonstrates support for the Epes Transport System, LLC Quality Management System and its objectives, as applicable. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
