Compensation Overview The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

1 What Is the Opportunity?
The Consumer Affairs team plays a critical role in the Corporate Compliance organization and is primarily responsible for receiving, distributing, and facilitating responses to consumer complaints received at Travelers. As a Consumer Affairs Consultant you will handle an active inventory and interact with consumers directly including by phone and receive complaints submitted from regulatory agencies and departments of insurance. In this role you will partner across all the various business areas of the company to ensure that Travelers remains in compliance with state and other regulatory requirements. What Will You Do? Independently receive, record, and assign all consumer/regulatory complaints received by Travelers (including complaints received by phone). Partner with appropriate business areas to research and respond to lower complexity complaints. Independently interact with complainants and state insurance department examiners in the management of lower complexity complaints. Ensure assigned complaints are responded to appropriately and in a timely manner and escalate complaints as required. Perform other duties as assigned. What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? Bachelor's Degree Three years prior experience with state jurisdictional guidelines, regulations, and procedures. Ability to analyze and understand laws and regulations as required. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to actively listen and empathize and pay attention to detail and clearly convey information to various audiences. Relationship building skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners and build rapport. Ability to manage time and competing priorities and provide management with accurate and timely status information. Analyze information using reasoning and judgment to make decisions and solve problems. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle challenging, sometimes escalated situations. What is a Must Have? Two years of relevant business, compliance, and/or regulatory experience. What Is in It for You?
