Responsibilities
• Dispatch calls for service via two-way radio• Provide immediate '911' contacts as directed• Obtain complete information from persons reporting incidents or problems and provide to the correct service provider• Provide directions, information, or other services to visitors, employees, patients, guests, and students• Monitor the University Electronic Access Control System and report problems/activity• Provide minor technical support for after-hours system malfunctions• Monitors CCTV, intercoms, and alarm panels for safety or security hazards• Answer all telephone lines and prioritize calls for service
Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent• One year of experience as a communications officer/dispatcher or similar professional setting• Working knowledge of procedures for licensed security officers• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Computer literacy• Positive interpersonal communication skills• Information gathering and organizational skills• Ability to make accurate and timely decisions• Ability to sit for long periods while remaining alert• Ability to operate CCTV and video recording equipment
