Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for supporting new business development opportunities and all phases of the proposal/capture process, including data collection, extensive research, proposal writing & development, and review activities. Develop proposal materials and graphics meeting the requirements of customer solicitations and incorporating theme selected by the proposal management team. Will work closely with the corporate team to ensure that proposals are well thought out and represent the best value to our potential customers and the company.

Individuals must be able to attain and maintain a valid U.S. Government security clearance to be retained in the position.

Duties & Responsibilities Develop proposal materials in accordance with the requirements of the SOW/PWS, RFP, and/or RFQ. Develop proposal strategies and identify and coordinate inputs Ensure that proposal plans and approaches of business submissions meet the requirements of the SOW/PWS, RFP, and/or RFQ Coordinate/validate "requirements" matrix Support data version control, final management approval, and final distribution Accomplishes tracking, cataloging, and reporting contract amendments and modifications from posting to contract award Coordinate work assignments to personnel supporting proposal efforts Proofread documents for consistency and errors focusing on quality work product Conduct internal information searches using available research tools Adhere to all defined business processes while accomplishing assigned tasks Develop marketing materials Assist with marketing and business development events, e.g. expos, trade shows, etc. Provide weekly status Support LCI Core values Other duties and projects as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, Communications, Management, or IT or Engineering-related field from an accredited post-secondary school. 3 – 5 years of experience required in Proposal writing and development
Skill & Certification Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in managing proposal activities Expertise in federal government contracting policies, regulations, and standards. Proven knowledge of proposal development processes and methodologies Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Highly proficient in MS Office products specifically MS SharePoint, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project Strong focus on customer service, quality, and teamwork Analytical capability to evaluate information and data, and conduct extensive research using multiple resources Demonstrated ability to creatively and coherently compose text and publication materials involving technical and professional services Strong time/project management and organization skills and the ability to remain flexible and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to work long and varying hours (when needed) to meet fixed deadlines Graphics design/development (desired) Ability to learn technical information quickly Position requires sitting, for long periods of time.
