Position: Bell Services Associate

Department: Hotel Operations

Job Summary: Welcomes hotel guests and facilitates their arrival and departure. Supports other areas such as Front Desk and Concierge, as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
1. Opens doors, and greets guests and carries their bags into the hotel providing a friendly, efficient, and engaging arrival experience.
2. Assists guests with luggage, escorts them to and from their rooms, promotes resort amenities, and outlines safety features.
3. Assists guests by giving directions and providing important information about the hotel. Offers tours of guest areas when requested.
4. Reports equipment and service deficiencies to the proper areas upon discovery.
5. Makes deliveries, retrieves guest laundry, and runs miscellaneous errands to guest rooms in a professional and efficient manner.
6. Performs miscellaneous guest services, such as storing luggage or holding packages.
7. Hails taxicabs and shuttles along with assisting with luggage to ensure a friendly, efficient, and engaging departure experience. Assists the Concierge in arranging transportation, as needed.
8. Performs work indoors and outdoors year round in all weather conditions.
9. Promotes the Enterprise's profit centers through pro-active selling; supports other areas, such as the Concierge, by recommending activities guests can do during their stay and recommending on property restaurants, concerts, and spa treatments.
10. Resolves complaints in a pleasant and level headed manner; refers complaints that are difficult to resolve to a supervisor.
11. Supports management staff by alerting them to potential problems and making recommendations to improve productivity, reduce costs, and improve guest service.
12. Keeps an eye out for suspicious activity.
13. Keeps the work area tidy by sweeping and removing trash.
14. Maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as well as good personal hygiene at all times.
15. Acts as a goodwill ambassador for the Enterprise both inside and outside of the workplace.
16. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of Tucson and other nearby city streets, attractions, and services.
2. Knowledge of departmental and the Enterprise's internal controls, policies, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of guest service principles and practices.
4. Knowledge of multiline telephones, 2-way radios, and standard office equipment such as photocopiers and fax machines.
5. Good telephone and basic clerical skills.
6. Good communication, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
7. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and cheerfully handle stress.
8. Ability to multitask, think quickly, problem solve and make sound decisions.
9. Ability to read, write, and complete any necessary paperwork.
10. Ability to lift and move items of seventy (70) pounds or more on a regular basis, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
11. Ability to maintain the physical stamina required in a fast-paced work environment; ability to stand and walk for long periods in an environment with a loud noise level.
12. Ability to work indoors and outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
13. Ability to work in a smoking environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must be in good physical condition to perform job duties (ability to lift and move items of seventy (70) pounds or more on a regular basis, with or without a reasonable accommodation).
2. Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and clean driving record.
3. Must either possess or obtain valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification within three (3) months of employment.
4. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
5. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
6. Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid non-gaming license.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. One year bell attendant or other guest service experience in an Indian gaming/hotel environment.
2. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
