Strong Associate-level candidate to support the Energy Transition and Sustainable Finance team in the U.S. He/she will work on advisory and structuring pitches, as well as live advisory mandates. The day-to-day activities include but are not limited to development of marketing materials, detailed financial modeling across asset classes (including midstream, renewables and energy transition), tracking deliverables, due diligence, research on new sectors and presenting transactions to management, as relevant.
The candidate will interface with internal product groups, as well as external stakeholders and will have responsibility for tracking deals for internal reporting purposes.
The successful candidate will be flexible to work hours as needed to help deliver a great client experience, which may include evenings and weekends.

How You'll Succeed Utilize your experience to provide risk analysis on transactions through thorough diligence Lead key workstreams on advisory mandates, including detailed operating and financial modeling on various equity and debt structures and due diligence Support research and drafting of internal white papers on new sectors / products, as required Take an active role in closing transactions, including managing external consultants, advisors and legal counsel Interface with internal product groups, including rates, commodities, debt capital markets, and investment banking Assist in creating marketing materials Assist in identifying new clients Collect, assemble and analyze market data Who You Are You can demonstrate a positive track record in energy and project finance either in a financial institution, advisory business or in a development team; experience and understanding of Sustainable Finance products is a plus. You have experience building and working in complex financial models, preferably on advisory mandates and/or capital raises for greenfield energy projects. At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. The Associate I role has an expected salary range of $150,000 - $170,000 for the New York , New York market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
