JOB PROFILE The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for a variety of general administrative duties that support the Sales Department, including working directly with Caterpillar sales and finance programs. The Assistant Sales Manager will support a team of 5 Sales Managers in various tasks related to the sales process which will include assisting in day-to-day operations and contributing to the efficiency of the Sales department.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as a point of contact for the sales department to internal departments and provide information and resources as requested
Assist in setting up new leads, contacts and projects and updating existing projects
Build and deliver reports to management and sales teams, based on expressed needs
Build, maintain and update KPI dashboards and reports for the entire department
Build, maintain and update templates for contracts and forms
Assist with organizing client proposals and tracking opportunities
Assist with sending contracts and agreements
Various other administrative assistant duties and sales admin support functions as needed
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in business administration and/or previous working experience in an Assistant Sales Manager or Supervisory role
Previous experience utilizing Sales Platforms (experience with AS400 is a big plus)
Must be proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
2 plus years of administrative experience (experience supporting a Sales team is a big plus)
Manage all post sales related activity of the Sales Team
Act as administrative assistant to Sales Team or other designated management within the Sales Department
Ability to project a professional demeanor
Respond to sales inquiries via phone, email and in writing as directed by the Sales Team
Carry out administrative tasks such as data input, processing information, completing paperwork and filing documents
Speak with internal and external customers using clear and professional language
Ability to work under general direction, on multiple tasks with demanding timelines
Ability to work effectively with team members on varying levels of the organization
Demonstrated organization skills and attention to detail
