Job Summary As an Archaeology Field Technician I at Chloeta, you'll participate in fieldwork and reporting compliance with Federal, State, Local and Tribal regulations for public clients nationwide in meeting their Cultural Resources objectives.

Duty Station : Remote (Virtual), field going.
Compensation: Chloeta reserves the right to offer any candidate above or below the listed compensation amount based on experience or business needs.
$23.08 to $34.13/hr. FLSA Non-Exempt Duties/Responsibilities Participates in and complete literature reviews, and participate in other aspects of field inventory, testing, monitoring, and mitigation, under the supervision of the Field Archaeologist, Project Manager and/or Project Director and Cultural Resource Specialist, in support of projects for various federal clients. Assists in writing site forms and small project survey reports as assigned, with direct oversight by supervisors. Communicates project archaeological results to the project team as requested. Assists with Tribal Traditional Cultural Specialists in the field. Conducts archaeological surveys to locate and document sites of potential interest. Assisting with excavation activities, including digging, screening soil, and recording findings. Cleaning, cataloging, and analyzing artifacts found during excavations. Records accurate and detailed field notes, sketches, and photographs of excavation sites and artifacts. Using GPS and other mapping tools to record the location and layout of excavation sites. Assists in artifact analysis, data entry, and report writing. Maintaining and cleaning field equipment, such as shovels, screens, and trowels. Working closely with other team members, including archaeologists, researchers, and field supervisors. Ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines related to archaeology and cultural resource management. Adheres to safety protocols and practices to ensure the well-being of oneself and others during fieldwork. Education and Skills Required: Basic understanding of NHPA and Tribal involvement in the Section 106 process Required: Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Required: Must have authorization to work permanently in the US Required: No advanced education with 2-5 years of archaeological field experience Preferred: Associate or bachelor's Degree in archaeology, anthropology, cultural resource management, geography, or related field with minimal field experience, Preferred: Some advanced education with some field experience ·
Physical Requirements Requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds to carry all equipment to and from sites from vehicle. Prolonged periods of conducting arduous field work, including shovel tests, in all climatological conditions Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc. Pre-employment Requirements Due to the nature of Chloeta's services, this position is contingent upon completing with a satisfactory outcome some or all the following pre-employment background screenings: government security clearance, federal and state criminal background checks, drug test (urinalysis), Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, educational history, employment history, and/or credit check. Additionally, employees are required to complete the federal I-9/E-Verify process.
