Responsibilities Job Summary / Purpose
The overall scope of the Business Operations Analyst is to coordinate and/or take direct responsibility for high-level tasks, including but not limited to, support of internal and external audits, identification and implementation of process improvements, identification of potential internal control weaknesses and other special projects related to department/organization cost savings, productivity, and efficiencies.  Requires full knowledge of integrated AP system applications, full-cycle Accounts Payable, internal controls and inter-related cross functional processes, with ability to perform in a self-directed capacity supporting a team environment.
Knowledge in Database query and reporting abilities and knowledge of system data tables for analyses as needed.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities Proactively work with AP staff, vendors and other departments to identify issues that are preventing timely and accurate invoice payment, perform root cause analysis and identify potential solutions to resolve issues and ensure efficient operations for APSC Proactively identify APSC internal control weaknesses and develop/present recommendations to AP leaders Review and monitor aged invoices and credits, and identify process improvement opportunities to reduce aging where possible. Act as sales tax liaison between CommonSpirit Health third party tax consultants and APSC processing teams to provide sales tax guidance on state-specific taxable and nontaxable items, as well as state/vendor sales tax exemption certificates upon request. Review and monitor all AP recovery audits to ensure validity of audit claims.  Identify and communicate to AP leadership, potential process improvement areas to reduce claim levels Review and monitor outstanding check information related to unclaimed property for appropriate disposition and reduction of escheated items. Assist with collection of documentation/report requests related to internal and external financial or operational audits. Provide vendor/invoice documentation as needed to assist Sr. Fraud Analyst investigations Perform other duties as assigned by leadership Perform system workflow analyses to identify efficiencies and inefficiencies in order to advise on system changes needed. Perform problem resolutions needed to address issues preventing proper payment workflow for Accounts Payable. Develop and implement specific data queries and uploads as needed for analytical results. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience 
Associates of Arts or Bachelor of Science is preferred, or equivalent work experience; At least 5-7 years of experience in AP operations; experience in a large multi-facility healthcare organization is preferred.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training Detailed oriented and results driven - analytical and organizational skills required. Analyze, interpret and summarize complex financial transactions and accounting records. Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a fast paced environment. Works well independently by conducting research with available tools. Strong relationship building, teamwork, and follow up skills required. Strong written, oral and presentation communication skills required. Ability to project competence, credibility, and professionalism, including the ability to use these qualities to build and maintain strong peer relationships. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products such Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
