Job DescriptionThis position is located at the Southern Piedmont Agricultural Research and Extension Center, located in Blackstone, Virginia. The position will provide support as an agricultural technician by collecting research information and maintaining research plots, including planting, irrigating, cultivating, and harvesting. Duties include driving back and forth between research plots both on and off the AREC grounds to carry out these tasks.Required QualificationsExperience and/or education in agriculture or basic science. Experience working in adverse weather conditions. Must have valid driver's license and safe driving record.Preferred QualificationsExperience with tobacco, forage, livestock, row crop, and/or vegetable production.
