The RN Clinic Administrator is responsible for the overall execution, management, and coordination of UNLV Health practice site's goals and objectives. Plans, directs, and implements processes to achieve operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and delivery of high quality patient-centered care. Collaborates on financial, productivity and quality performance issues. In conjunction with the Executive Director of Clinic Operations, Department Chair, Medical Director, Administrator, and faculty, develops plans and leads implementation to improve performance as necessary. Functions effectively in a Matrix Management environment, serving as the administrative liaison between faculty, division chiefs, medical school departments, hospital, university, and practice plan executive administration as it relates to the faculty practice plan. Ability to engage multi-disciplinary teams and cross-functional departments to accomplish goals by influencing, motivating and enabling others to contribute toward the organizations success. Expected to lead by example and follow all policies and procedures while promoting a positive and safe work environment.

Major Responsibilities Clinical Practice Management and Quality Responsible for oversight of all operations, organization of committees, leadership in staff meetings and championing special projects. Working in collaboration with Executive Director of Clinical Operations. Leads and directs management team and clinical and administrative staff to perform day-to-day activities the department clinic(s), including preparation of coverage schedules, assignment of staff duties, productivity measures, medical records compliance, lab services, contingency plan for emergencies, site audits, coordination of vacation and leave requests, completion of all institutional paperwork, and maintenance of necessary regulatory records. Oversees maintenance, appearance and usability of physical space, and recommends space planning measures and improvement of clinic space. Develops, maintains and enforces policies and procedures for the operation of the department clinic(s). Provides information relative to operation of the total clinic(s) for evaluation and revision of regulation, procedures, and practices. Implements processes according to established policies. Continually monitors and evaluates efficiency of patient and clinical workflow in accordance to department productivity and budget. Review's clinic's information system needs to address issues of efficiency and makes recommendations to increase overall operational efficiency. Ensures practice compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Effectively plans for the maintenance and replacement of essential equipment for the department clinic(s). Implements strategies to improve communications between the faculty practice plan and community hospitals to ensure the appropriateness and timeliness of patient care. Adheres to and implements clinical and operational policies, processes, and guidelines to support physicians and providers in achieving quality outcome metrics. Benchmarking performance improvements projects throughout the project lifecycle. Understanding, implementing and embracing quality with an emphasis on fiscal responsibility Continually Auditing clinic services to ensure UNLV Health clinics are utilizing Evidence Based Health Practices. Faculty/Staff/Salary and Personnel Administration Assists Chair in recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, supervision, and evaluation of faculty and staff as it relates to the faculty practice plan, including all necessary interactions with the Executive Director of Clinical Operations and the UNLV Health Human Resources Department. Serves as the administrative liaison between faculty, division chiefs, medical school departments, hospital, university, and practice plan administration as it relates to the faculty practice plan. Coordinates activities between medical staff and consumer councils as it relates to the faculty practice plan. Implements methods to increase staff productivity with the department clinic(s). Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, policy-making bodies, patients and the public. Facilitate resolution process for any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful practice atmosphere. Maintains active involvement in recruitment and hiring to assure adequate staffing for the department clinic(s). Collaboratively establishes realistic, measurable, developmental goals and objectives. Utilizes coaching, performance feedback, and progressive disciplinary action processes to address staff performance and behavior issues in a timely manner. Fiscal Management Responsible for achieving the department's financial targets. Oversees and is responsible and accountable for inventory of all physical, fixed and financial assets of the department. Pursues and oversees opportunities for grants and contracts as it relates to the practice plan, with the approval of the Chair and Practice Plan Executive Leadership. Coordinates grant budget and expenditures, ensures contract compliance, and revenues are received in accordance to contract guidelines. Works with Revenue Cycle Department to ensure benchmarks are met in areas of charge lag days, missing charges, edits, work queues, denials, and other metrics as identified. Prepares statistical and other special reports relative to work assignment. Develops strategies to maximize efficiency and ensure cost containment. Collaborates with finance in developing department clinic(s) budget to include forecasting of patient volume, contractual changes, capital expenditures, and requesting additional services. In conjunction with procurement, effectively plans, allocates, and monitors acquisition of supplies, services, and capital resources for the department clinic(s). Professional Expectations Maintains patient, workplace and co-worker privacy and confidentiality. Follows all policies and procedures of UNLV Health. Attends required meetings in a timely manner and in person ready to participate, reports to work on time and as scheduled. Completes work within designated time-frame. Adheres to dress code, including name badge. Maintains a neat and clean appearance. Utilizes company resources responsibly, avoiding waste. Communicates effectively, setting aside personal problems and differences in order to promote a positive and safe work environment. Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends and developments. Management/Leadership Collaborates with leadership to maintain or exceed benchmarks and achieve goals and objectives. Conducts scheduled performance appraisals with employee within 30 days of the due date. Serves as a mentor and role model to employees; demonstrates fair and equitable employment practices. Clinic maintains an above average score on ongoing patient/clinic/employee surveys. Ensures employees have unexpired licenses and/or certifications and documents TB/Hepatitis screenings on a yearly basis per position requirements. Ensures employees are educated in the organization's and department's policies, procedures and guidelines. Report employee injuries/illnesses within a timely manner (but no greater than 5 business days) to Human Resources and Risk Management. Accommodates modified duty restrictions as feasible. Implements specific work projects assigned by leadership. Skill in organizing work, delegating, and achieving goals and objectives. Skill in exercising judgment and discretion in developing, applying, interpreting and coordinating departmental clinical policies and procedures. Recommends, develops, implements and updates strategic long and short range plans to support organization's goals. Strong project management skills and follow-through from vision to execution with measurable results to the bottom line. Providing Weekly Status Updates to the Executive Director of Clinical Operations. Conduct monthly staff meetings that should include items discussed(Minutes). Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Licenses, Certifications, Experience and Requirements Bachelors of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing with 4 years of managerial experience. Two-Four years of Managerial experience. Nursing/Management in Ambulatory setting preferred. Experience within an academic, safety-net, public health or managed care setting is a plus. Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. Demonstrated ability to use a computer with Word, Excel, Outlook, Google software ability. Valid and current driver's license. Flexibility with work assignments and hours. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Lead by example, dealing with others in a professional manner. Must possess excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Strong leadership skills to motivate and engage staff to achieve department goals and deliver excellent customer service. Skills for management of personnel resources – developing staff and offering constructive feedback to improve performance. Ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve department goals. Ability to read and analyze a profit and loss statement. Application of business principles involved in planning, resource allocation, human resource concepts, operations, policies and procedures. Advanced accounting skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Docs and Sheets. Knowledge and application of Practice Management and EMR systems. Experience with EPIC is a plus. Knowledge of Human Resources rules and regulations, and privacy, Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance laws. Application of insurance industry and billing practices. Application of cash handling policies and procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to travel to various locations in Las Vegas Metropolitan area. Physical Requirements May include standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods. May include performing repetitive tasks. May include working on a special schedule (i.e. evenings and weekends). May include working with challenging patients and clients. May include lifting 25 pounds.
