Are you looking for an entry level position in the Executive Accounting Series? The Bureau of Accounting and Financial Management/Financial Reporting Division is seeking a dedicated professional with exceptional work ethic to join our team. This position gives you the opportunity to a ssist with compiling and analyzing data to satisfy various state and federal report filings. Take your career to the next level with us and unleash your potential! In this position, you will be reviewing annual financial reports (AFR's) filed by Pennsylvania Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) as well as Public School Code. You must maintain an extensive working knowledge of these principles and standards throughout your employment. You will have the opportunity to assist with compiling and analyzing the data to satisfy various state and federal report filings, as well as assist with special projects upon request.
The Office of Comptroller Operations is supportive of career growth opportunities and candidates in this job title may be promoted into an Executive Accounting Specialist upon successful completion of a probationary period and at least one year as an Executive Financial Associate. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework:  You may be expected to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. Please keep in mind the telework agreement may change at any time at the Governor's discretion. You must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Note : You will be required to report to headquarters to pick your equipment and attend periodic meetings at your expense. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years as an Accounting Assistant (commonwealth title) and completion of 21 college credits in accounting and an additional 3 credits in finance or accounting; or Two years as a Fiscal Technician (commonwealth title) and completion of 21 college credits in accounting and an additional 3 credits in finance or accounting; or A bachelor's degree including 21 credits in accounting and an additional 3 credits in finance or accounting; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 21 college credits in accounting and an additional 3 credits in finance or accounting. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
