Posting Identification Number 36779 Position Overview The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire an Account Technician I for the Joliet Inpatient Treatment Center located in Joliet, Illinois to serve as Payroll Officer. Prepares, calculates, verifies, reconciles, and processes payroll deductions, corrections, changes, and revocations. Provides information to supervisors and employees regarding payroll/timekeeping issues utilizing the policy and procedures manual, contracts, and personnel rules. Serves as Joliet Inpatient Treatment Center (JITC) Mental Health (MH) timekeeper. Prepares financial statements and reports for administrative staff and central office.

Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience. Qualifying state employees, in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this class. Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers and related accounting software and other software programs such as Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office. Requires ability to pass the IDOC background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois. Please note that although the law has changed, the Department will continue to enforce the Department's zero tolerance Drug Testing policy. The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis, by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
